some cars in the eighties and nineties had a line off of the airpump in the engine bay (which we do not have) to inject air directly into the cat to help the burn process. That is what that long tube is for. It is a hook up to the airline from the airpump. As said above, we do not need this, do not order one with it.

OK, got my exhaust! i really want to make this car sound downright mean with Maintec Headers.

I'm taking it to Meineke. What can they do to make it sound really mean. I have 1.8L Cam on a 2.0, 2.25' exhaust straight pipe without anything but pipe leading to the muffler in the rear. the rear muffler is silenced on the tip.

i'm going to go with a high flow cat. anybody know what Meineke could do to make it inexpensively sound MEAN? I want growl and howl like no other Tiburon.

First of all your car will sound very different just because you will get those nice equal design headers and since they are also coated they should sound really good.

Since you got the exhaust and it's straight through I'd definitely put a resonator on it. It will not take any power away, but will only add some nice growl to it.

You heard my tib, I have thrush glasspack, so I recommend you get the same man.

i was thinking of that! hmm... i'm going to stop by a special supercharger tuning & custom exhaust shop on monday to get this thing installed.

since it didn't come with hangers they are going to have to weld everything on and install a high flow cat. if not then it's meineke and i would hate to go there.

yeh my dogs can hear it when it's not even on! this is the exhaust from Tim (Speed-Factor) Mild steel 2.25'. It's a direct replica of the Apexi N1 silenced. I need to get it to a shop so they can weld flanges, then ship it back to Jet-Hot and back for its final trip.

Do you guys think that it looks like it will fit directly to the downpipe or will there still be room for a cat without having to cut up any metal?

Wait a sec.

Yours didnt' come with hangers either?

Hmm, 3 out of 4 of them that have misteriously lost their SCREW in hangers.

whoa WTF, i found the hangers... SHEEZZZZ stupid me!!?!

it would probably have been easier to just get the apexi itself and have them cut the piping into the cat since i'm doing that anyways... at either rate it's going to sound neat. the gaskets and screws will cost some. but i've got to go to the shop to get the cat welded in anyways...

then jet hot... eesh. that's a lot of labor.

REDZ, everyone should look on the bottom of their boxes for a newspaper and make sure they didn't throw anything out by accident. i found my hangers thinking it was a newspaper from the exhaust lmao.gif
