well guys, i'm looking at replacing the manual tranny on my '00 tib with one from a '00 or '01 elantra. however, i am curious, i'm going to be getting this flywheel for it: http://www.shop.hyundaiperformance.com/sho...hp?i=FID_193141
i'm also looking to replace the clutch with this one:
http://www.shop.hyundaiperformance.com/sho...?i=ACT_HY1-HDR4
my question, however, is the flywheel says it's for the elantra and the tib and the tranny is interchangeable between the two. the clutch, however, says it's only for the tib. will this clutch work on the elantra tranny or do i have to buy the tib tranny? any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

Not sure how fast you need to replace your clutch and flywheel, but this is a much better deal:

As far as your question, yes the clutch is interchangeable, it will work with the elantra tranny.

The only thing you have to worry about is the flywheel spacing. I'm sure someone else will chime in here - there was a production split sometime in 2000 where the flywheel changed by a few millimeters. In the kit I posted above, it comes with a spacer to take care of that incase you need the extra millimeters.

I wouldn't get tranny from elantra. They are geared very differently than our trannies. Our trannies are a lot more agressive. Clutch and flywheel should fit both with no problem.

Ebay has the Fidanza at US$335.00. But that GB is excellent.... If you have the money, TAKE IT

I have the XTD clutch.... just new... less than 1000KM... grab like hell.... hope to keep grabing in a few thousands miles...

Also I saw the XTD Flywheel at US$175.00 12 pounds.... (like 5 or 6 pounds more than the Fidanza...)

Um... my post got merged into the original post? lol.

Anyhow, the elantra tranny isn't THAT much different. Hell, you'll get better mileage. If I had an elantra tranny sitting around I'd install it wink1.gif

well, i haven't kept up too much on clutches, but isn't a Stage 3 gonna be even more heavy duty than the one i'm looking at? also, on that GB, which flywheel is lighter, the fidanza or the VHR?

Flywheels are about the same weight.

Clutch should be just fine. Stage 3 is perfectly fine for daily driving!

alright, one more question and that'll be it, i hope. how long should i drive nicely to wear the clutch in? do i need to keep it under a certain RPM? almost wish they came a little worn in already....it would mean i could smoke those tires all the way out of the shop >_>.
