ok have a spec stage 3 and 4 clutch went to put in today and i dont have the throw bearing.i bought this of someone here on the forums a while back and i heard the stories about there clutches but i dont have the money for a new one now.but anyways can i use a stock throw out bearing or do i have to order the one from spec or should i anyways?please any help or if anyone has an extra one they want to sell let me know thanks

Stock is the only option we have as far as I know. You may as well replace it while replacing the clutch, no sense in saving $50-60 reusing your old one. Call the nearest dealer, they should have one ($50-60).

Most of the aftermarket clutches use the stock valeo TOB. I know for a fact that Spec uses the stock one. Stupid POS company! mad.gif

Spec or Valeo??, I've been pleased with both my Spec Clutches.

Spec uses Valeo parts (stock bearing). The stock clutch IS Valeo.
A lot of other model cars use Valeo also.

nothing wrong with using a new stock throw out bearing. The TOB does not affect how the clutch clamps and transmits power. All it does is disengage the clutch disc from the pressure plate. So all it needs to be is a ringed bearing that can take being pressed into the clutch a million some times. A stronger clutch MIGHT ruin it faster, but I doubt it.

I know it will.

The stock bearing wasn't meant to pull out a much stronger pressure plate. I've ruined 3. A freind had his in pieces. And another was forced to replace his from premature wear.
