I've been reading on here, hp.com, and newtib.com. I was gonna get the VHR in the GB on here, then thought about the SPEC clutch(VERY BRIEFLY I might add), now I'm thinking about getting the ACT clutch from here. My questions are:

Those of you that put in one of these clutches a while back, how are they holding up and;

Those of you that got the ACT, did you get the 4 puc and how's the chatter and vibration?

I'm also thinking about getting the Fidanza flywheel. Anything I should know about it?

there are other options too.
clutchnet and centerforce have decent clutches.

act is good, but from what i remember, they use a crappy valeo release bearing.
if ur turbo or going turbo, maybe you should think about clutchnet or centerforce.

just my .20

Yeah I saw the Centerforce on hp.com but it's a dual friction clutch for high horse and torque and I'm NA. I'll look into them some more as well. Whatever I get, I will probably get the Centerforce release bearing on hp.com though as it seems the Valeo's seem to be the standard and from what I've read they aren't very good.

As far as I know the Valeo throwout bearing is the ONLY one available to us (it's an OEM part). I can't seem to find the Centerforce throwout bearing on hyundaiperformance.com you mentioned.

I've had the VHR setup for about 8 months or so now, it was rough at first, but it wore in and I got used to it. Seems to be holding up well, I can chirp 3rd gear wink1.gif

for a N/A car and low boost simply get the ACT pressure plate and disc and a OEM (dealer) bearing
works nice, decent streetability and hold around 240 lbs/ft

in my tibby ive owned two specs, both failed horribly. i then went with a smaller co. called south bend clutch, and there stage 1 was more agressive then the spec stage 4 i woned, it was a great clutch, and very affordable. id highly recommend it.

in other cars ive owned ive had a act 4 puck unsprung, it definitly got the deed done. also ive used a clutchmasters duel friction stage 2, also never had issues with it, but it wasnt cheap.

The thing I don't like about the ACT 4 puc though is that it's unsprung which is why I'm leaning towards the VHR again. Does ACT have a sprung clutch?

i have the fidenza flywheel, and deffinatly have no complaints. Ive installed tons of act clutches and deffiantly have not had a problem with them but just about all of your man brands are good, clutchmaster, centerforce, exedy, act. its just going to be a personalu preference depending on who you ask. fing02.gif
