If possible can you give me a price on a STRONGER Turbo 5th gear?
If so how much would that be...
I was think of cyro treating 1st-4rth gear and getting a stronger 5th gear since this is the weakest link in our tranny.I will then cryo treat 5th just in case
Finally if you can give me detail on the material its made from
Let me know bro
Thanks hail.gif

you can boost in 5th gear, just not for long
and its not really the power itself that causes gear to explode.. theres a bushing in 5th gear that heats up and expands, squeezing the gear oil out. this in turn siezes up the gear, making it bust up.
theres really no need to ever be boosting in 5th gear for any period of time anyway. if you are past 4th gear, and boosting in 5th, your breaking the law drillsergeant.gif
and on that topic, i have boosted in 5th gear a few times (for short periods of time) with no issues.

what bushing are you talking about? the gears needle bearing sleeve?
imho 5th pops because its under the most load ( think gear ratios)
its also bigger than 3rd and 4th and is right next to the oil feed at the end of the input shaft.
and 5th is kinda needed on the track down the main straight..

5th gear isnt needed on the track, unless its more than a 1/4 mile and no one runs a 1/2 mile.. 4th gear tops out over an amount that pretty much anyone on here is going to trap at. 4th tops out around 110 or so. which is good for ~12.5 which about 1% of the members are capable of.

We have the "Texas Mile", which is open to anyone as long as you have certain safety equipment. You go balls to the wall for a straight mile for a topspeed run in your street car.
We also have the Big Bend Open Road Race. Another high speed race on a highway open to amatuers.
And with that said, enough of the off-topic legality of boosting in 5th gear. He stated nothing about streetracing or 1/4 mile runs, which you guys are implying he's using this for.
