You could always wrap it with heat wrap. tongue.gif

heat wrap will allow it to rust faster

i would go stainless. i've found a great seller for flanges!! can't beat $20 stainless pair.

i have jet hot coating. it's good but there is flaking. if you drop a wrench it will flake off. the whole bottom of the downpipe is rusted.

Stainless is always better than coating. I have never seen a single coating that will not crack or flake off of exhaust on a daily driver. No matter what miraculous claims are made about the coating. All you need is one weak spot and the exhaust will rust through. Around here they will even rust through from the inside.

I had my Maintec GT headers ceramic coated locally in ABQ about 3 years ago, and they haven't flaked at all. Wasn't too expensive, but I wish I had done a sterling coat like Jet Hot offers.

Jet hot always has coupon deals, and HKC, I think they warranty their work man, I'd contact them if youa re having trouble. I've never seen anyone have issues with their coatings.

i might have forgotten to mention driving to florida on a broken waterpump might have had something to do with it? sad.gif the engine overheated bad. but yeah the rust is pretty bad, the ring holding the flex pipe rusted off. we also have a lot of salty winters. yeah it might be a good idea to call but for now i sprayed it with some ceramic spray because i'm short on cash.

otherwise their quality sterling is very good. i would definitely recommend them and they have 3 locations. my headers still look very good. i'm really satisfied with the coating and the flanges will never rust. it's top quality tough stuff but you'll always have peace of mind with stainless.

mild steel sucks so bad and rusts to sh*t where i am. if i were to go back, i would buy 2 ebay exhausts for $120 each. then chopped those badboys up with a hacksaw using stainless pipe from the second exhaust for extra pipe. make one badass 2.5' exhaust with all stainless flanges and stainless 2.5'' 40'' glasspack and a second 14'' glasspack welded to the rear section.

if you're going underaxle, you can use stainless glasspacks in three areas. so 3 flanged glasspacks altogether and 1 straight through glasspacked magnaflow muffler. think of how badass that would be?
