so after changing two of my belts today, (3 hours of shitty painstaking work later) this is what i get when i take my old belts off
after 86k miles i think it was good to replace the factory ones
i dont know about you, but i dont like my belts looking like my cat got hungry for rubber

mine looked like that when after i used to commute to work 30 miles one way per day. it's surprising how much those belts still function and don't slip all that much in that state!!
pour some carbon cleaner in there from time to time later on the second quarter. it'll help grip the belts and stop squeaking.

I want to know exactally what type of a belt that is so that I may install it on my car next. Seriously, that must be a good belt. My belts always break before the tread wears off on the pully side.
One time I had an alternator belt snap on me. I drove 1 mile home on my battery alone with no alternator!
I've never even seen that before. OMG I'm in love with your belt.

sorry DTN, i dont know the brand, i can go pull it out of the garbage tomorrow though and check, but it was really really crappy
jalmir- the nearest dealership is like 100 miles away from me which = $26 not worth it, otherwise i would probably go and ask them, even though they dont know crap about it
