I remember the one time I got the old gasket stuck to the mount and then put a new filter on my fiat. Started her up, the filter got 60 pounds of cold oil.. and sprayed four quarts all over the driveway before I could shut her down.
Took months to get the stains off of the concrete.

Vehicle: Hyundai Coupe 1997
i pulled the rubber seal off the filter and overlaid it on the engine mount and it seems that the rubber seal is a mm or so too small so it may be a better idea to get a different brand of filter - prob the same brand that my mechanic used last oil change

i got a deal on a bunch of Hyundai Genuine filters. i like them. If i don't use those, i use the Purolator PURE ONE filters.
Just stay away from Fram. They are no good in my opinion and seem to cause some troubles by falling apart for other vehicles.
