Slipping Transmission - No Not That Slipping

sounds to me like when you are parking on an incline you leave it in gear hence the clutch and tranny are engadged. This will use ONLY the motors compression for holding the car. This is very dangerous as wheh the car is warm it has plenty of compression but as it cools the compression will drop due to loser tolerances and making the motor turn over easyier. What you are experiancing is the car actually having enough force wanting to roll down hill that it is turning the motor over, hence the jerkieness to it as each cyl puts a compression load. DONT PARK YOUR CAR ON A HILL WITH JUST IT BEING IN GEAR YOU MUST USE THE PARKING BREAK.

putting it in 5th will make it worse as it is easier to turn the motor over in 5th by pushing than 1st.
say we take 1 tire rotation in 1st gear it might turn the motor over 5 times now put it in 5th and now we only have to turn the motor over 2 times for 1 rotation. Think about it in 1st at 3500 how fast are you going 25mhp? what about 5th turning the same rpm now we are doing 75mph same rpm but that wheel is turning much faster. the higher the gear the easier it is to turn the engine over from a roll.

Well this wasn't an issue till winter came because i'd just put on the ebrake.... well i can't do that during winter or it sticks.
why is it doing this? and is the only way to fix it to figure out whats with the ebrake and cold weather?

..the parking brake sticks. smile.gif
btw the compression thing makes sense, I was thinking it had something to do with the cold.
