Anybody with non-OEM replacement shifter linkage bushings:

a) of what material are yours made?
b) how long have you had them in?
c) have you had any problems with them, including wear and/or degradation of the bushing, pin, or housing?

I'm toying with the idea of using either bronze (if I can find suitable stock) or aluminum pieces cut to fit, with grease. Also I could go with a very hard or just 'more firm than stock' plastics (we've got all kinds of stuff around here). Gathering opinions based on experience.

I was toying with the idea of doing this as well, I was considering using a polymer.

I've had the APE plastic ones in for a long time, they are great, but overpriced.

I do have a new method for doing them, for DIRT cheap, and I've already verified it works. Since I have the APE's, I don't need them, but if you want in on the deal to do the DIY for it, I'll send them to you for $12 shipped (enough to do 2.5 cars too). that's the same price I paid, plus shipping, and these parts are brand new.

So simple it'll make your head spin, and you can sell off the extras.

Let me know.

thanks but no thanks. I already know it's simple, that's why I'm not saving my pennies.

You'll see. let's just say it's cheap, durable, easy to find, and the perfect solution.

Nothing will be "trimmed", it was all on topic.

silly me.

topic
"what is your experience w/ X I'm gathering opinions"
response starts out related
"my experience is abc and do you want to buy some"
then we went at least 1/2way offtopic.gif talking about
"no i can make it"
"no you can't"
"yes I can"

meh.
