Default RPM Limiter Removing Fuel Cut

Has anyone found out how to do this, its become an issue, since I switched over to the 2.5" Cat and Apexi N1, shes pulls hard right into 6700 RPM. Not one word of a lie, you can here the exhaust pulses start lining up at about 5500-5600 RPM and it makes that ricey whine, and it keeps pulling, harder then before I did that dyno on the old 2" stuff.

I don't plan on revving it over 7k as the lifters would start floating anyways, but I hate the sound it makes when I hit the rev limiter, and I just want to know if anyone found out the connectors to remove, short, etc... I perused http://webhome.idirect.com/~trini/car/ but to avail.

Thanks,

-Steve

Thats amazing what power you have.....But let me ask you this....I know you have a 2.5 Cat back But I have an automatic and I want to keep my stock plumbing...But I want to swap out my stock muffler for a Straight Trough Muffler like the BMW 3-Series 99-03+....Also will My car be similar to yours with the RPM band increase...let me know cause I'm very intrested in being educated about this kind of stuff...

If you keep everything stock and just replace the muffler, you won't have much of that buzzing sound. The stock exhaust has a lot of silencing parts.
If you went with a cat-back exhaust, you might hear some.
If you did a full exhaust, it will be annoying without some type of silencing(resonator or glasspack).

I got used to it, so it doesn't bother me a whole lot.

You don't really need to remove the fuel cut, it's there to save you from overrevving it. 6700rpm is OK.

the limiter instructions on my site are only for automatics and also to remove the speed limiter, not rpm. DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE REV LIMITER. your stock limiter is set at 6750, and tho it pulls well all the way there, also bouncing off the limiter is not a good thing.

I'd like to remove it so that I have no chance of blowing the engine with nitrous. I'll end up getting a window switch, but having this removed also, will make me feel much better. wink

Installing a window switch is a much wiser move than removing/increasing the rev limiter.

Either than or just always "short shift" at around 6200 to 6400 to make sure you don't hit the rev limiter.

To remove/change the rev limiter it would require a change to the ECU, which we have no way of doing at this time.
