Retarding Ignition (random red?)
So does anyone know of an easy way (with out paying 1600 bucks for a new ECU) to retard the ignition.
I was looking at the ZEX site and for anything over a 55 shot you have to start retarding the ignition.
Thanx

WARNING... if i was new at nitrous, and i read the first few replies.. i would easily be lead to think that i could run the stock spark plugs using a 55 shot of nitrous.. i know it didnt specifically say that, but its easy to confuse a beginner...
WARNING.. DO NOT USE STOCK SPARK PLUGS WITH ANY NITROUS SYSTEM. YOU WILL INSTANTLY FVCK UP YOUR MOTOR IF YOU DO THAT.
get some NGK spark plugs that are 1 stage colder than stock..
the number on the box of spark plugs is BKR6E-11 those are the ones you need...
the stock plugs are BKR5E-11 you see, the number 6 is one one stage COLDER than stock. and they are good for nitrous as i have already prooven. smile.gif

There is no way to advance or retard our ignition timing. It is 100% ECU controled. The only way to do it would be to install a MSD DIS-2 DIGITAL or similar unit that allows you to control the spark timing.
