resetting ecu
I was reading a couple of posts, and some people say that you have to reset your ecu after every performance mod. I haven't reset my ecu ever, and I have alot of mods. Is there any truth to this? A buddy of mine with a prelude tells me that all it will do is make your car run like crap for a day or two.

You do not "have to" reset the ECU. The ECU will "learn" your mods as you go along. Each mod you do affects the efficency of the motor, and the stock ECU is capable of adjusting to most mods. If you reset your ECU, it would not take a couple of days, your ECU would figure things out within the first 10 miles. (otherwise your motor would go boom!)

Depending on the car -
Honda's you MUST reset the ECU to gain the best improvements, as this is when the ECU enters a self learn mode for 2 - 3 minutes depending on the model.
The Hyundai ECU's constantly monitor the under bonnet sensors and don't even have a reset capability (disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes is not a reset with the Siemens ECU's)
