I mean replacing stock CAT with high perf. CAT without changing its location... is this illegal in Cali? If so, is there any way to make them put this one for me?

so if i roll over a speed bump too fast with my lowered car and put a big dent in my cat then it would be legal to put a high flow cat in its place ...lol ...i think cali needs me to govern this state wink.gif

You could just tell them that the car has lost alot of performance and someone told you that it was probably a clogged converter.... that "everyone who drives a Hyundai knows that"... Then switch to a hi po converter.

The muffler shops might buy that as a good enough reason.

It's a legitimate reason for changing the converters on an RX-7.
