If you get the "race" version, it comes with universial wire leads. That is the only difference between the Race version and the "normal" version.
AEM will NEVER make one for the Tiburon, not enough volume, but we should be able to adapt the "race" version to fit our cars.

My take:
That unit has been around for eons as ProEFI. It's a rebadged version of the ProEFI with cool little harness adapters that allow you to snap into the stock wiring harness of their favorite cars (read: basically only Honda/Acura equipment, no Hyundai here). AEM also provides "base maps" to get very basic functionality with your setup.
The software sucks ass, there's much fewer datapoints to program, it still doesn't handle HUGE injectors well and it's still more expensive than a full Haltech setup. The "standard" version is supposedly going for $1000 or more, the "full race" is going for better than $1800. Neither one holds a candle to the feature set of a Haltech.
If the "plug and play" harness and free "base maps" is very important to you, then maybe a full standalone isn't quite what you're wanting yet.

Per the website, the Race version is the same as the "normal" version just missing the plug and play features,...so why are they charging $800 more for it? *boggle* Where did you get those prices? I was quoted $650 for the "race" unit from AEM's product rep.
How did you find out where AEM got the software/hardware from?
I new this was not going to be a Haltec style system for a turbo conversion, but I figured it might give someone a better option than just an S-AFC and ITC.

I picked up all my information from ClubSi, probably THE site for talking about these types of things (since it's being marketed primarily for the Honda/Acura crowd). The prices I mentioned might have been backwards, but that's the numbers that were going around from the intelligent members of the forums there.
If it's only $650, well then hell yeah. It's definately a better option for those folks only needing just a bit more ECU potential. But if the $1000+ prices are more likely, then forget it.
