Default Reactive Muffler...any good?

Hey guys,

Anyone know if these (Reactive mufflers) are any good? The guy that is selling it wants $250 for the muffler and an intake, both installed.

Deal or rip off? I'm thinking that if the muffler is no good, then I'll just get the intake.

Thanks for any help.

P.S. That's $250 CDN, and the muffler and intake have 10K on them.

Here's a few links that might help you out....

For what it's worth I wouldn't buy a Ractive exhaust. The welds on the exhaust are known to come apart after a year or so. Lot's of bad stories from what I've heard.

Those links were found by just performing a quick search.

ElGato, last Tuesday, I went on a Intake hunt. Went to about 10 shops lol. Among my choices were:

Injen (had to be cut up to fit in the fenderwall) and was too expensive)
Wait for AEM (Who knows???)
Wait for SR (Who knows???)
AOS (The one I decided to order for price and recommendation)

And which brings me to Ractive. They had one by them and actually had the filter out on display that would go on the end of the intake pipe. I was not impressed. It literally looked like a sponge in a mesh grille. Therefore, unimpressed by the quality, I did not go with that although they had one for an Elantra.

Thanks Mark D' Shark for the links and Jay for the reply. I usually do the searches, I totally forgot this time though.

I guess I will take a look and see it's condition. I AM getting BOTH intake and exhaust for 250....so even if it sucks it's not that expensive i guess.

And an AOS intake is $250 CDN alone!

Anyways, thanks for the help guys.

Well I decided to go with the Ractive exhaust and I'M GLAD I DID!

It sounds so awesome and I find myself letting the engine rev a lot more now. It's not a high pitch buzz like most Honduhs, it's a nice deep exhaust and makes little to zero noise when idling. I actually drove without my subs today just to listen to the exhaust!

Lets just hope it doesn't go rusting on me any time soon!

Here are some pics:

And here are some pictures of the Air Intake:

that is not a cold air intake. that's a stock filter with style. lol.
seriously, you'd probably be better off taking the resonator out of your stock air box and get some K&N air filter.

I know, I never said it was wink It's a start though. I'm planning on modifying it soon so it gets cooler air since I already noticed how hot it is around it.

Would it really be better using the stock air box??

No.
You are getting much more air into the engine with that intake than you would with just the air box with a K&N drop in.

Got a Ractive fireball on my 2000 Tib and I really like it. Also have a Flex pipe back 2.25 custom exhaust.
