THAT COULD BE A BETTER CHOICE IN THE US SINCE UNICHIP IS NOT KNOWN THERE. UNICHIP DOES HAVE A MODEL THAT CAN CORRECT FUEL, IGNITION, CAN HANDLE BOOST, CAN DRIVE EXTRA INJECTORS, ETC. IN ONE BOX THAT IS PROGRAMED AND REPROGRAMED IN THE SAME WAY AS THE S-PRODUCTS, WITH A DYNO, PC AND A/F INSTRUMENTATION.

ANOTHER BENEFIT FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING OF THE PIGGYBACK COMPUTER IS THAT YOU KEEP THE KNOCK SENSOR OPERATING (ORIGINAL ECU) SO THAT THE IGNITION IS RETARDED IF DETONATION EMERGES. I THINK THE HAL DOES NOT HANDLE KNOCK SENSORS, AT LEAST THE LAST TIME I SAW THE SPECS AND FOUND OUT WITH THEM A FEW MONTHS AGO. CORRECT ME RED IF IM WRONG, THAT IS MY LAST INFO ON THEM.

The Haltech doesn't look for a knock sensor. The flipside to this is, the only real reason you would knock with a Hatlech is if you're running really bad gas.

Typically the Haltech lets you tune so accurately that you never have to worry about it...

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TOLD. REMEMBER THAT IN MY CASE FUEL IS NOT NECESSARLY THAT CONSISTENT SO I LIKE TO PROTECT MY ENGINE WITH THE KNOCKING SENSOR. IN THE US YOU CAN DEFINETLY TRUST THE FUEL QUALITY AND THEREFORE YOU MIGHT NOT NEED IT. TELL ME SOMETHING, HOW ABOUT RUNNING HIGH BOOSTS, WOULDNT THE KNOCK SENSOR PROTECT YOU???

Wait, whats this about the unichip being able to adjust the stock fuel curves? I thought it was a fully independent unit. Can anyone shed some light on it? Or would it be better/cheaper to go with the S-AFC and ITC.

It is an alternative to S-products but it is always nice to compare more info and prices. Most important from my point of view is the expertise of the installer on either product. I do not know the prices for the UNICHIP, you might find a dealer in the US close to you. Its just an idea!
