Default Random Exhaust question

Random!!
When i install my Turbo im going 3 inch Stainless steel piping all the way back. Now my question is how restrictive is going to be a Cat converter if it were to be installed.Im not worried about Laws because the guy at the shop said he can build one that you can place and disconnect any time you want. Will you notice a diffrence in performance.
If i dot install it will it be LOUD??
Thanks Rob!!

The cat isn't that restrictive if the in/out is the same as the pipe on both ends, also yes no cat=LOUD

As long as you go with a 3" in and 3" out cat, you should be fine. If you cut the cat out of the equation...yes, it will be damn loud.

RANDOM!!
Since im getting a custom 3inch exhaust will it hurt my performance still is not going to be mandrel bend.It will be press!!!

Wouldnt 3 inch exhaust be a little to big even if your rinning LOW BOOST? Anywhere between 7-10psi?
Some guys recommend a 2.75inch exhaust.Would there be much of a difference in performance out of he two?
I know that a turbo creates back pressure so im thing 3 inch! Right?

actually 2.5" should be enough, you really don't need to get that big.

If the only piping you can get is press bent, then go for the 3". If you can get Mandrel bent 2.75, that would, do, but you are going to have a BITCH of a time finding a cat with 2.75 in/out and a muffler with 2.75 inlet. For some damn reason, 2.75" piping is rarely used...don't ask me why, it just isn't.

If you plan on NEVER turning up the boost beyond 10 psi, 2.5" mandrel bent would do the trick, but if you ever plan on going above 10 PSI...then you might as well get the 3".

Thanks for the help guys!!!
BTW is there any company that makes 3inch mandrel Bent piping?
To be honest im not sure if i want to go past 10psi with my Turbo. After 10PSI i would have to upgrade internally and dont have the coin for that right now.
Unforntantly any custom piping made is press bend, unless there are muffler shops that have the equipment to make mandrel bent piping!
Random lets say i get the 3inch custom piping which will be Press Bent is that still ok to use under 10psi?
Thanks a mill!!!!!!!!

The 3" press bent should work fine for you.

You can always have your exaust shop tell you what to order, then order the right parts from www.jcwhitney.com. They sell mandrel bent Stainless steel tubing in various different bents and lengths.

Wow!!! Will 3" piping even fit on a Tib??? With a 2.5" it was a tight squeeze. Can't imagine how easy it would be with 3" eek.gif
