OBX is the lower end of the market, the headers don't look like anything special, just a 4-1 short runner design. I don't think they can be that bad but HVE have proven their headders work and have many more years of use in the Hyundai after market, Shark also carry the HVE and home grown Koera headders to.

I ordered the OBX headers, don't have them on yet, but will post my thoughts when I do. Everyone I have talked to with them seem very happy with the performance gain.

Peace

actually since you do have a 2.0L why bother with these headers? 2.0 doesn't like to be normally aspirated...however, it is a prime engine for forced induction. Why not wait for alpine to come out with their kit?

Hey Red. With the hve, is it a bolt on headers or did you have to drill a second bung for the second O2 sensor?

I have had the OBX header since they were in the proto-type stage, once installed it works great, no complaints, it was a good deal, not to mention its Stainless Steel smile.gif

does anyone have the obx header installed with a hi flow cat?

any issues?

is it a true 4-1 header? BV1 you list it as 4-2-1 in your signature.

As you can tell, I am seriously considering this cheap alternative.

Regardless of how much and what design, you're gonna have better exhaust flow compared to the stock EM. Money might not be an issue for some, but for those of us who don't have a lot, is a 1-3hp difference really worth the extra $100-$300? As long as if they don't rust, I would go for the cheapest ones unless if they were absolutely terrible in design and construction...

just my opinion, feel free to reply with your objections!

I don't know about other brands but RPW has just released it own range or RPW Race Design headers which come with our designed 4-1 headers with 1 7/8 primary pipe diameters, 36" long primary pipes into a 2 1/2" diameter merge supplied with a flex pipe of the same diameter which will bolt up to the standard cat or can be supplied with a high flow cat converter option.

These are garaunteed to beat any shorter design 4-1 system due to the longer design producing more torque at lower rpms and they are mandrel bent and come with options of ceramic coating.

We are a dealer for Hve as well and have been waiting for 6 months for some Hve 4-1 shorty headers which led us to make our own which are a lot better.

For proof of our design speak with the USA mirage people who have been using our headers for over 2 years.

Shark racing will also be selling our header systems in the future.
