best one I had was 380 with still enough gas for about 30-45mi, but that was driving on I-95 for over 500mi. Although, I never stayed in the gas saving zone. I was doing at least 75, with 100 for a few minutes, and mostly 85mph.

Normal driving I usually get 330-340 mi per tank, which is not bad at all considering that I drive in the city a lot.

You getting 260 miles per tank is horrible; I get 300 out of my camaro with only 2 galons bigger tank.

Yea man, we need real numbers. Not just about how many miles per tank you get.

I found that the AC will drop you about 7 MPG.

I recently drove to upstate NY. On the way there i got about 34 MPG with AC on nearly the whole time. Now on the way home i had the windows down and didnt use the AC even once. That trip got me 44 MPG. On the way there i was going about 80 the whole way and on the way home i was going about 70. So im gonna take a guess that i got 7 MPG less with the air on.

That was on a new oil change, new plugs, 2.5 full exhuast and cone filter right off the MAF sensor.

I almost always get 31mpg when I figure it out.. recently it has dropped to about 29, so I just ordered new wires and plugs and I am getting ready to change all the filters and fluids..

44? Are you sure you measured it right? I've never heard of these numbers before unless it was a geo metro or hybrid...

I think it's kind of ironic that people are spending money to try to save on gas. You'll end up spending more money on parts and will probably take a good while to make up the difference as you'll only be saving a few pennies at best at the tank. The best thing you can do, if you want to save on gas, is to keep a light foot on the gas pedal and change your oil and air filter on regular intervals in addition to plugs and wires on scheduled maintenance.

You'd be surprised what driving a well maintained car with light foot at 55mph with no AC will give you. I dunno about 44mpgs, but my guess is closer to 40 than you'd think.

I shift at about 3500-3700, go 80 on the highway, and my milage:

With using the A/C alot: Constantly 360 per tank or higher, close to 380.

Without the A/C: 390-410.

I read somewhere someone was skipping gears, and shifting to 5th at like 30mph...and that is just not good in my opinion. Causes more harm than good.

If you're shifting good, you just need to drive and you will get good distance per tank.

You want to drive so that the engine is burning gas effeciently, while the transmission is working at it's optimum effeciency as well. Shifting to 5th at 30 is definitely not optimum RPM for your trans.

Skipping gears can't hurt a thing as long as you do it right. If you do not bog the engine or slip the clutch, then you did not hurt the transmision, clutch, or the engine.

As for Miliage.. I can believe 44mpg. The first year I had my tib I drove from Ocean City, NJ to Avon, NC. Roughly 350miles.. I did it on 2/3s of a tank at a steady 50-55 mph with the AC off. I think When I filled up the tank, I calculated 40mpg. Probably would have been higher, but that last third was done driving local out on the outerbanks.
