Everyone knows that our heads on the Beta are not designed for power and that a Port and Polish shows good results.

Okay, a Chain Buy is this.

We all get some cash together, and buy a spare head. Like this one.

http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=11500&hl=

Let's say $200 shipped.

Anyways, I get it here in NM and take it to a local place to get it ported and polished. I can do a Dyno on it to if anyone wants, but funds would need to be donated for that.

After it's on and dyno'd, the first person in the chain gets their money to me for the P&P price (Obviously we'll know what it is allready, I know one that was done locally and acid dipped for $250), PLUS a Core Charge of let's say $100, in a seperate paypal payment.

I take my OEM head to the place, get it P&P'd, and ship it to you. When you ship me YOUR OEM head, I'll refund your Core Charge in full.

So on and so forth.

Obviously, the people that donate to get the spare head get first in the chain.

All Shipping will be done with full insurance on the item.

Average gains from this are decent. From 5 to 10 WHP have been noted for a NA beta, and higher obviously for a FI beta.

I MAY HAVE ACCESS TO ONE HERE IN ABQ FOR FREE OR CHEAP. Keep that in mind.

We can also discuss where we can get the best job done for a good price, it could be elsewhere, and look into that instead.

Wouldn't it cost a lot more than that to port and polish a head? Or are there different degrees to which it can be P&P? i.e. better P&P = more money? I might be interested in this, but I figured it would be smarter to buy a whole separate engine assembly and build it up, do the head work and replace the internals WITHOUT any down time for the car. This may be worth while though. What about valves and springs? If you do a P&P wouldn't it be beneficial to upgrade these at the same time? Something to consider for a chain buy like this.

If this truly can be done, I would be VERY happy to participate. I would gladly shell out $3-400 for polished head. $500 for a port matched head.

Please count me in on this one. $ isn't a problem for such a beneficial mod.

Unfortunatly, I cannot join in because the head on my car is messed up already from when I installed the 1.8 cam and the torque wrench crapped out on me. If I can find a cheap head around here, I might be in

My head is old and crudded. Im sure I'll "feel" a difference with a polished and ported one. $500 is what I'd expect to pay for something that is professionally done and flow tested etc. I'd like to see if they can match it to an Airram.

That would be AWESOME!

Redz, make this work and I'll cancel my new IS350 plans. This'll give my tib a whole new lease on life. Doesn't hurt to be hopefully.

Just don't take till next decade mang!
