I was wondering what year elantras have the same automatic transmissions as a 2000 Tiburon. I am looking for a swap that I will not have do any mods to make it fit, as in mounts, harnesses, or anything. Thanks.

Might I ask why are you swapping an Elantra's auto tranny with a 2000 Tiburon auto tranny?

Any Elantra with a Beta1 motor will work...

But yes, why are you swapping to another automatic? Great time to put a manual in there... slightly better gas mileage, more fun driving the car, lots of things...

I've heard of people swaping in manual and atuo's from the accent to the tibby due to the higher gear ratio's in the two, swapping in an elantra auto tranny should be no differant than the tibby tranny, they are the same when it comes to the auto tranny and all the mounts are the same since it has the same chasis as the 1st gen tibby from 97-00.

I am doing the auto for a temp fix....I need my car asap and I don't have the extra time or money right now.

I know that there are some wire harnesses that are different.

For example when I look for a 99 elantra tranny it gives the option for a 4 or 6 prong.

And I am not sure what prong my 2000 tib has, so I don't know what would fit. I don't mess with electrical wires. So I am just trying to get something straight forward.

Anyone know which of the harnesses have that is mentioned for the 4 or 6 prong, that way I can check my car. Or if anyone knows right off the top of their head.

Sorry, I'm closing this, it's been asked about 10 times in the past 2 months.
