Have some qustions. Bought the car with 113,000 Kms, and began using Synthetic Oil. Currently I'm using Quaker State Advanced Engine Full Synthetic (10-W30)

I was just wondering if 10-W30 is alright to use.

I live in Canada.

Summer Temps (5-35 Celcius)
Winter Temps (10- (-40) Celcius)

10W30 in the summer months
5W30 in the winter months, a little easier to start when it hits -30

How bout this, 5W30 or 10W30 in winter, it doesn't get all that cold here in winter, maybe only REALLY cold for a week at most.

And then 10W40 in summer for a little extra protection??

Im from Michigan and I use 10w30 all year around. If your Using Synthetic, Use Mobil 1. Mobil 1 is the only Real synthetic oil on the Market(well besides Amsoil). All other "Synthetics" are just really refined Conventional Oil.

Heres my own plan. I use Valvoline Conventional 10w30 ,, then when Winter hits,, I mix 50/50 Valvoline Synthetic and valvoline Conventional 10w30... I use valvoline because I won four cases of valvoline in a drawing.

It be nice if you filled in your profile and said WHERE in Canada you live, temps are CONSIDERABLY different from say Victoria to Saskatoon!
