Is it in the images of the parts manual somebody scanned and posted here? I don't know. You might have to walk them through it if they can't figure out how to drill down in their system.

The injectors do tick, but if you've ever heard the HLAs clattering, you know it's a MUCH LOUDER noise that is easy to hear in the car driving down the road. My ticking injectors I can't really hear with the windows up and hood down.

So I filled my oil to the max and today after 10-15min of driving I think that the noise is coming only from the right side of the engine ( transmission side ) !
Is it the chain? I don't think the injectors can tick like this! As I told you before the ticking was there even before the 1.8 swap, but after that it was louder !?

It is possible that the timing chain is slapping the valve cover or the cylinder head. If it is the timing chain, a very slight difference in the size or pitch or whatever of the gear on the 1.8L camshaft could cause a difference in the noise it makes. If you take off your valve cover, you may note a spot has been rubbed by the chain. There may also be a mark from the chain on a plastic piece in the cylinder head or (hopefully not! ) on the metal of the cylinder head itself.

If the chain is notably loose when the cams are bolted in, replace the chain.

Yep I remember that the chain is loose. So this weekend I'm gonna change it and hopefully no more ticking mad.gif

Tonight I was invited by some friends with bmws and one alfa romeo 166 2.4 jtd smile.gif

The results:

me vs bmw 325i e36 192hp+CAI and some weight reduction - to 100km/h ( 60miles ) we were side by side, but after that the beemer was too much for me!
so 1/4 mile I lost by 2 car lengths

me vs bmw325tds chip tuning, CAI, custom exhaust around 180hp - we were pretty close, but he damaged his exhasut...

me vs alfa romeo 166jtd with some big garett 1.8bar,exhaust,K&N around 200hp - I won by 1 car length and after that my clutch was f***ing slipping...!?!?!

Thanx again Stocker, you're the man fing02.gif

1/4 mile makes me think you're on a track. Please tell me you are not street racing on actual streets.

No street racing smile.gif It's not official drag strip, but it's closed private road with 4 lines, lamps and it's about 800-900meters. It's pretty good for 1/4 mile drag. I was really happy with my 0-60miles , but after that the third gear wasn't what I wanted !

Sorry i didnt respond earlier but if your not turboed DO NOT gasket match the intake manifold you lose low end torqe like a son of a stocker. lol i don't have dyno proof but rarely do you hear any one say a bolt on made such a difference that you can absolutely tell. they may say it but unless its turbo or n2o they are full of it. This is most common with exhaust's and cai because it makes the car sound different aka louder, so they feel like its faster.

i have witnessed this first hand with my own n/a setup, however now that im turboed it has completely changed more power in low end torque even before spool up.
thought maybe its my tuning ? who knows but that is definitely your problem, cross my heart hope to die.
i have drag times on my n/a for both p&p and stock intake
60 foot times with p&p were slower and 1/4 times were higher
that was when i had and autotragic so 60's were usually pretty consistent.

I'm happy with my car right now, it's only the third gear that I don't like ! From 0-60mph the car runs really good ( I was able to keep up with 2.5 v6 192hp ! ) I don't think the P&P is a bad thing wink1.gif We will see how it will run after the chip tuning fing02.gif
