NGK vs. Bosch
Hey all, I have a question. Some guys at work and I were talking about Spark plugs (don't ask) and we got to talking about whether Bosch's or NGK's are better.. Just wondering what you guys think? Thanks.

Plug is a plug to a point. Brand discussions are like debating Hyundai vs Honda. It is really personal preference.
Copper = more spark than platinum
"V" electrodes = more spark than standard electrode
So...go for V-Coppers, whoever makes them.(I just NGK)

So then the Bosch Platinum +4's really don't do anything? Having the four prongs as opposed to having one prong?
Also-I was wondering if plug wires are interchangeable, for example, would the SR wires work with like the V-Power Coppers? Thanks for your help.

If you are looking for performance (I don't know why you would with just spark plugs...but hey) stay away from the platinums. Everyone has their little marketing gimmiks... 4 prongs v groove whatever... One thing to remember...you are not going to gain any HP from plugs alone. If you want plugs that last longer, go with platinum... if you want plugs that conduct better go with copper. It's that simple. I have the NGK v power in mine. I noticed no difference. (Except that the I seemed to ride a little smoother) To answer your other question, yes you can change thw wires.

Pretty much any plug with work with any wire with the exception of "Direct Hit" wires and "Nology" wires. Those wire sets require non-resistor sparkplugs, and most spark plugs are resistors.

I have Bosch Platinum +4 in my 2K Elantra... Noticed no difference... It's all psychological I think... I went with Bosch, I know people who like NGK... I had NGKs in my Zuki(Samurai) off-roader... worked like a charm.. My only question is what is the suggested replacement of spark plugs recently...

platinum plugs can go 100,000 miles.
Coppers should be replaced every 20,000 to 25,000.
