You NEED an inline fuse within 12 inches from the power source. When it shorts it will make THE WIRE burn and ignite. Trust me, my neon strobes burned out its own power wire b/c i used the wrong wire and almost melted my center dash...wont make that mistake twice. ALWAYS USE FUSES

oh yeah, I made my CAI from 3" 90 degree elbow(cost 1.70 and bends in any direction...Home Depot) picked up some rubber connectors from the H D and an intake tube for a civic cut to fit. mmmm....Monster Flow filters rule

I've that setup of wires in my car for 1 1/2 years now never had a problem but i am re wiring everthing this spring so maybe I'll switch but untill then for me it's fine where it is.

My current setup is similar to that, except my filter is where the battery used to be (battery is in the trunk). I got heat wrap from JC whitney. Cheapest you'll find, but their shipping is outrageous. Best to get multiple items on an order, or else it's not a good deal. If that's the only thing you need, a Rice or Speed shop should have it for about the same price (when you factor in shipping).

No problems with that setup at all. Remember to drill a hole for the IAT (temp sensor). It will give the engine more accurate readings so it can compensate.

Where is your IAT sensor? I cannot tell from those photos.

Also, as suggested above, you might want to think about heat wraping the pipe. It will lower the noise level of the intake, but it will increase the performance level. You can then also "wet down" the heat wrap with chilled water, when you need that extra few ponies.

If you have the tools available, drill a hole in that plastic elbow, then put the rubber grommet from the stock airbox in the hole, then you can insert the IAT into the grommet and get a good seal. You might be stressing the wireing on your IAT by just putting it inside of the tube.

be carefull when you use that plastic flexible tubbing i made my own cai for my 2000 kia sephia and it worked great for about a week until the plastic got to hot and was at to much of an angel it actually split the flexible tubbing almost in half,i know have a civic chrome intake pipe on which i had to hack saw to make it fit($40)if i spend another $40 on another intake pipe i can peice it all together for the real cai look and it will not break,just my 2cents.

Well its just temporey for now untill I can get one from KORE or untill I can have one custom made, though I do apprieciate your input and I will keep an eye on the rubber elbow, thanks for the heads up on that.
