Default Manual v. Auto

I have an 02 Accent 1.6l(auto).
For performance i added a custom intake, an custom exhaust.

I share stories with other accent owners on the board, one in particalar. He has the same mods yet he gets up 20mph faster than my car an he drives an manual.
Only real difference is my sub box, an rims for weight.
I tried kickin everyone out of my car then going. Taking it out of over drive. So the question is, does a manual GS Accent put down more than a Auto Accent?

yup
manuals have a lower power train loss

Get a torque converter to even the score,... well not really but it will be close

Stock 5 speed tibbies dyno 20WHP more than automatic tibbies

I knew Manuals could get up a kill auto's off the line etc...
But with the same car, same specs, same mods, i figured it should be real close.
Not him pullin away.
Im talkin on the track pedal to the floor, car wont go any faster.
Does SR offer a torque converter?

no they dont,... but do a search in the engine forum

i believe a place called level 10 thats in florida makes torque converters for all types of applications

Another reason why he stomps on you everytime,... is well hes just lucky, he might of gotten a real good engine from the factory

BTW,... since you have an accent with less power,... removing the speaker box might even you guys out

I can feel a difference when my tank is empty and the speaker box is out,... and my car is heavier than yours

Try it out
