Default maf sensor relocation ?

Someone told me that I could increase hp by removing the maf sensor from my intake pipe, lengthening the wires and locating the sensor outside the engine bay so it reads colder air and "the ecu will adjust by giving more power".

Is this possible ?

yes its possibe but stupid the MAF is there to adjust for the amount of air actually reacing ur engine, and if u trick it ur STOCK ECU could make it go boom cuz think and ur car will get less gas milegage cuz i think ur car will run richer since it will be seeing more air than is actually reacing the einge
