MAF to MAP????????
I've been hearing a lot of talk about switching from MAf to MAP. Is there any logic to this? What would be the pros and cons of switching to MAP on a NA set up? Would you recomend it?

map is better for turbo tuning. if you're gonna stay n/a, don't worry about it. if you plan on going turbo, you'll need a map sensor WAY down the road. i don't know what airflow our maf max's out at, but it's fine for a lot of boost; more than you'll be able to throw at it for a while and with $$$. the map kinda makes a guess at how much air is in the manifold by the pressure, where as the maf actually measures the airflow, that's why the map is better for turbo. oh, and if you're going with a map sensor, you need a haltech or other standalone ecu. by looking at the install pics from red's car at www.hyundaiproject.com,, it doesn't look fun.

In short, You can make either one work on the other system, in fact, most newer cars are MAP in N/A form.
There is no point to switching from MAF to MAP unless you are going to go to Forced Induction and a complete engine stand alone setup.

The only way to switch from MAF to MAP for Forced Induction is do use a stand alone engine management system.
Haltec, Motec, PacTel, SDS, etc..etc..etc..
There's no point in trying to convert to a Stock MAP system.
