I have no idea aboout the pullies. I dought it tho. I had the timing belt replaced by the local Kia dealership. I bought the car there and was told to have them do any warrenty work. The head gasket went, hense the warrenty work. They suggested the timing belt to be changed while they had the engine apart. I'll have to call them. Doubt I'll get much of an answer, tho. Those f***ers are retarded! They left the cruise control box just hanging there when they gave me back the car. I don't trust them with shit at this point.

I've also noticed my lights acting wierd at night. They brighten on acceleration and dim on deceleration. Alternator maybe?

Probably it's loose alt belt. Check it's tension with your hand. Don't forget to stop the engine when doing it.
BTW maybe this belt is whining.

Same exact thing happened to me. Right after dealership returned vehicle from a timing belt change. Its definately the timing belt, I havent had the guts to adjust the tension on it yet.
I removed the top cover of the timing belt area and the noise comes from like were the belt runs around the crank.
I'll let you know if I get it licked, annoying as hell. At idle you dont notice but as soon as you give gas it whines like a mother.

I'm 90% sure it's the alternator. My light's flicker really bad when I rev the engine. I mean they flicker almost to the point where you could call it a blinking. Lol... I guess I'll have to go to auto zone and get a new alternator. Grrr... i want to spend my money on upgrades not maintinance. Grrrr.... I guess thats the price you pay when you buy used.
Scratch that ^^^ I'm going to go to NAPA. $160 is a far better price over $280. Lol...

What should I do? This time I won't be so pig headed.
