Even if you just kept the stock runners then fabbed a BIG a-la-airram plennum you'd see good results, I think.
I reckon that welding bigger diameter pipes to the smaller stock runners could get messy if you don't get it 100% right... If you want to play around with the runners then just re-do them entirely & re-use the stock fuel rail fing02.gif

in your case i'd still use the stock flange to get the ports shape and the injectors bungs,
cut the stock IM around 2 inch fron the sealing surface and build up your new IM runner from there
you will have to shape your new runners tubes into an oval shaped like in the link you showed us but it's quite easy

hmmm i wonder if i could use some silicone to connect the two
the gsx-r does that with there throttle bodies i think
which would be better a sheet metal plenum or a tube plenum
i plan on using velocity stacks no matter what

yeah but i cant think of a easy way to put that taper in
maybe im makin this to be way more difficult than it actually is
i got it!!!
i dont know why i didnt think of this before
why dont i buy a cheapo obx header and chop the piping off....i would get that taper at the end real easy and the header can be found used for cheap lol

^ I'm not sure but I'd prolly just get a blowtorch to heat the ends as much as possible then get a hammer & slowly flatten them into the desired oval shape; once they're welded into the stock flange, it should be pretty easy to tidy them up with a bit of a port-job... Whichever way you do it, it shouldn't be that difficult.

if you get an OBX header you'l lget SS tubes. .not aluminium ;-0
get aluminium tubing then makea simple die like the one showed in the SDS link, heat the tubing like OZsuggested (this will get the aluminium much more maleable) then shape it on the dies with a hammer
