Default Intake ?

Ok, Got a question for you. If I reomve the resonator from the intake and just put on a simple cone filter. What would the performance + and -'s ? Now I plan on installing a new cold air intake when I get some flow, but I may be unemployed here shortly, and dont want to make any investments.

Thanks.

You probably will not find too too much of a gain because of it.. You talked about just taking the resonator off.. I would also take off the stock air box as well.. I have a little bit of a gain..
One of the nice things is that it sounds a hell of alot better.. Meaner I mean... hehehh

I also agree with Tryptik. Did the cone filter on another car and my '02 GLS, and though the added intake noise is music, the performance gain is equal to adding clear corners and TSR banner. Looks good, sounds better, but that's all.

There will be an increase in throttle response due to the lack of the resonator. There will also probably be an increaes in fuel econonmy as the engine does not have to suck through 3 resonator boxes.

Go for it...just don't expect tire shredding power.

What about the sensors that are in the pipe to the air box? What do I do with those?
