how do you prevent your exhaust piping from being ripped out from underneath if you hit a bump or speedbump?

not sure why it'd get ripped out. There should be plenty of strong bolts holding it in place. It may scrape, but you just work to get the exhaust higher than the frame of the car. There are a few exhausts out there that scrape even on cars moderately lowered on a 1.2" drop with springs. It's something that just happens.

2 of my cars scrape exhaust regularly. All it has done is made one exhaust gasket fail needing replaced. But that flange was right where it always hits.
