Idle And Stutter Problem
#1
Hey. My car has recently been idling at about 600-700 rpm and when I am sitting there idling, it starts surging at random intervals. After I am done idling and the light turns green, for instance, the car will stutter and then kick in and go after a couple seconds. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I would appreciate it.

Sounds like the MAF. It idles fine and then when you switch from closed loop to open loop driving it surges... Sounds like the MAF. Clean it with MAF cleaner. You probly oiled your filter too much.
Could also be a loose spark plug or bad TPS.

I just changed my maf because it was having similar problems. I have an a/f gauge and it was saying im running lean. If it threw a cel get it checked from auto-zone. When idling it would bog up and down, then when I would go to take off it would stutter for a minute then get up and go.

I think he's talking about IAC. Intake Air Controller. It's the little round thing behind your intake manifold. it connects to the elbow. It regulates idle speed.
If you were idling that low, you'd have a Check Engine Light. Your idle is normal if you do not have one. I assumed that because you did not mention a CEL. If you have a CEL get it scanned. It would tell us much more. The idle will look low because there is only 3/4 of the space between 0-1000, as 1000-2000.
Most likely, if you think your idle is actually running low, and you have no CEL, then you are probly just experiencing excessive vibration. that can be caused by a loose or worn engine mount.
