Default hypercharger

as i understnad, the hypercharger for the 2003 tiburon is just a air filter thingy. Supposedly it has gains of 12 horses as tested on a v6 tiburon. is this common for all air filters? or is this a WOW thing?

well 12 horsies is possible with the new v6 because of its horrendously restrictive intake. As far as being "common", depends on what engine. On the i4 tiburon, 5-8 is more common, but the v6 12 might be common(no dyno yet), but your also looking at a extra 800lbs of body, so the actual acceleration gain will be similar.

As for whether or not you should do it, hell yeah. intake filter's are the first thing you should do to a tiburon(aside from buying one) wink

Oh hypercharger is just a fancy name for a cone filter with a heat sheild. If you can afford it, get a Cold air intake(RS-CAI is only $50+- and 8hp+ on i4).

5.8 HP and 6.1 ft lbs of torque actually.

Not sure what a "hypercharger" is. Sounds rather gimmicky though...
Who makes it? Can you provide a link?

The AEM intake for the V6 showed 16 Wheel HP according to AEM.

The V6 Tibby Random Special will be dyno'ed on May 18th. It will be dyno'ed on an auto...as no V6 6-speeds have been available for testing yet.

Way to hijack a thread man!
http://www.teamsr.org/ForumLinkedImages/Ra.../rs_cai_diy.htm

That link that Cheuk posted is just a intake system with a K&N filter on it. It is NOT a CAI nor is it anything more impressive that you could do yourself.
