how much can the beta take N/A
I have read on this board. The beta can get up to the 190+whp range N/A. I know that RPW makes a stage 3 kit (Which can be aquired through SR ) that can range 200+hp. That requires boaring it out to a 2.2L though. Hehe, Stage 3 kit + Turbo 10psi = MORE POWER!!

It also equals over US$10,000 on the motor ALONE.
Try turbocharging that 1.5L of yours. Its a decent little motor. Everything is available piecemeal, alls it takes is an industrious person to slap it all together and tune it.

why does it take so much damn time and money and imprivising to make our cars go fast. That dude with the Honda probably put what around 1800 bucks into his car and now he's runnning freaking twelves. and me Mr. accent boy has to spend 10,000 dollars and have everything hand built. Damn i wish we had the flame forum. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

I'd be willing you bet you he spent more like $4000 to $6000 on that 12.7 Second honda. Drag slicks and light weight wheels are not cheap.($100 to $150 per tire and $200 to $600 a wheel). The Nitrous kit probably ran him $800 to $1000 alone. Then there's the headers, CAI, cam gears, Upgraded fuel pump..etc..etc..etc.. Not to mention the cost of the B16a to begin with (unless he bought the car with that motor in it)
Trust me..he spent A LOT more that $1800. Speed is NOT cheap!
It won't take $10,000 to get your Accent into the 12's, but it will take about the same $4000 to $6000 that he spent for you to do it, possibly more, but he started with 160 HP, you're starting with 102 HP. He's already got a 58 HP jump on you.
The question is..what do you want to do, how much do you want to spend. Do you want to get into the 12's? Sure we can help you get there, but do you really want to spend $4K to $6K(or more)? The choice is yours...

i didn't start this thread cause i WANT my car in the twelves. i started it cause i just wanted to see what it would take to acheive this if it later became one of my automotive GOALS. this friend of mine got all this stuff for cheap, his nitrous kit was only like 450 or so and the engine he got a good deal on too. thanks for all the info though. smile.gif
