Your dealers are smoking dope. The Manual states 214 to 200 PSI as the "acceptable" range.

If you add a teaspoon of oil to each cylinder, and the compression ratio goes up, you know the problem is rings. If the addition of oil has no effect, you know the problem is valves/headgasket.

Your 1.8L has a 10:1 compression ratio rather than the 2.0L 10.3:1 compression ratio, but that should NOT drop you down 39 PSI....
