Default HLA Problem AGAIN !!!!!!!!!

My HLA are Fried agin as i had one replaced under warranty last year!!
It does a loud ticking noise at idle and when you rev it,ITS EVEN LOUDER!!
I checked my oil level and it what fine so i just added a little more to see if the Ticking would go away.
I guess im off to the dealer to have it checked out and the best part is i STILL HAVE warranty even with all the mods i have

i had a bad ticking from lower-head

i used engine flush but no results

i used sintetic oil and noise became loud.

then i noticed a paradox !
i noticed that thinner oil=noise loud
and thicker oil noise less loud

then my mechanic serviced the car

i've 8 of 16 hla (exaust side) replaced few days ago.

but seems that thicking was due to ring-piston slap...

so they replaced in warranty rings in all four pistons.

initially noise was totally absent.

Now after about 1000 km a little noise is present at cold start during first 20-30 second.
then it's all regular

i listened other II gen tibs and from what i heard all new tibs do a little noise when cold start but it goes away warming up the engine

i'm assuming are tolerances of components at cold start.

DAMN HLA ... I WANT SOLID LIFTERS smile.gif

I hope its not my Rings and its only the HLA's!!!
Like i mentioned before at idle you hear a Ticking noise and when you rev the car it gets very loud!!
It happened to me last year and it was the HLA that was damaged!!!
We will see what happens when i take it in!!

I noticed the ticking noise went away for about 1 hour of driving then when i drove it hard for a while the ticking noise came back.Im pretty sure its the lifters taht are defective.

Random how much HP can the HLA's handle?

HLA's are not subject to "HP" or "Torque" loading. They are just there to "auto adjust" the space between the valve and the cam. They are "inertia" loaded, so they effictivly limit your max RPM, but then again, the long stroke of our motor does the same.

Try changing your oil, and using a good, motor flush. Let it run for whatever the bottle says (5 or 10 minutes), then change your oil. Do this at EVERY oil change. The turbo you have will seriously raise your oil temps, and the turbo also will contaminate your oil with gas hydrocarbons via blowby the rings and crankcase. This also shortens your oil life.

Change it every 3000, and always use motor flush. Try that, as it is a hell of a lot cheaper than HLA replacement.

175 is very low. Very Very low considering you do not have the head spacer installed.

WITH the head spacer I'm at 180-185psi.

Since your saying 175 is low is there a way of increasing the PSI?
Is anything damaged!!
