Default hey has anyone ever thought about or made an effort to try...

putting an Eclipse GST engine and tranny in a tiburon? i know how well these respond to buildups and can make some nice power levels, and since the eclipse is like 10000 lbs heavier than the tiburon...it would be even quicker...

thoughts? opinions? responses?

yes its been talked about, there was one person a long time ago considering it but i think with the cost of the swap he came to his senses. the 2 engines actually sit in the engine bay pointing the opposite direction, mounts wouldnt line up... just be a pain.

my thought is if your going to do an engine swap **** all the BS and put a twin turbo supra engine in.

all in all it really makes no difference, i truely believe that if you have the money to drop in a complete different engine you have the money to produce a 600+ HP beta. the koreans have proven that the beta can handle 800 hp just fine (new internals are required)

Some one told me that there is an Eclipse Turbo that may fit an Accent/Elanta. (w/ some slight modifications of course) Anyone else heard of this? Thanks..........

no, it wouldnt be slight the engines actually mount 180 degrees differently in the engine bay!
meaning one points this way
<------
and ours points this way

youd have to weld in all new engines mounts, most likely have drive lines custom made (im sure the lengths would be off) youd have to pull the interior completely out of the car, and wire in an ecu that would run that motor (either a haltech unit, or a mitsu one haltech will run you $1200+ if you get a GOOD deal) this is just a bad idea, i wish ppl would get it out of their heads.

or, if you meant the turbo itself, not the engine...

Any turbo will "fit" if you can do the fabrication for the piping/manifold. Sorta like any engine will "fit".
