Haltech E6K: Good Deal or Not?
Hello! What do you guys think? I guess Red would know the most about it.
I found used Haltech E6K. It was in a race car for 2 years. It includes a 3 bar MAP sensor/AIR sensor/water temp sensor and a Trim knob. The seller says that the condition is like new. But it was in a car for 2 years! On the other hand, ECU is not a tire or smth like that and doesn't really wear. Or am I wrong? So basically is it okay to buy used ECU?
And do you think $875 for that Haltech is a good deal?

You can get brand new ones for even cheaper than $1100 now as I recall correctly, mostly because the E11 is out in production.
Generally speaking, a used Haltech probably couldn't be "bad". But the sensors and stuff eventually start wearing out -- although not quickly, on a race car you know they're going to get more abuse than a stock setup.
I wouldn't buy it for $875. If he came down to like $750 I might start thinking about it...
Remember that all the wiring harness will have to be ripped out, and some of it will have to be clipped and re-wired because his choice of output options will not be the same as what you will want to use. There's a lot of work you'd have to go back and clean up...
