another horsepower calculator shows ...

Horsepower Results - 1/4 Mile Method
Your Hyundai weighs about 2850 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 15.298 seconds. That means that you've got about 157.34 HP at the wheels, and about 204.54 HP at the flywheel.

this calculator shows that i lost 47.2 HP through the drivetrain and wheels... thats about 23% of engine horsepower ...

strange.

When i had my auto tib i was running a CAI,4-2-1 headers with full 2.25 inch exhaust,S-AFC,Bored TB 58mm also Port matched Intake manifold and cylinder head work as well as valve job.I ran a 55 shot of NOS and i ran 156-158 Wheel HP.
There is no way with just a 55 shot of NOS and with no other mods you have as much HP as me at the wheels.Something is not right here????

once again, noone is doubting his times, so by showing us his timeslips that will only prove that he's telling the truth about the times, which I BELIEVE cause of that NOS, but his dyno readings are way off... sorry

Don't ever post dyno times man, until you've got a dyno sheet to back it up, calculations done by a program won't back it up or work here, trust me man... smile.gif

I agree with you BAT!!!
Im NOT DOUBTING HIS TIME SLIPS in terns of quarter mile time but his SO CLAIMED 158WHP is way OFF.I basically have all the N/A Bolt on mods done to my car and i pulled a 158WHP and my 1/4 mile time was 15.2 ON THE DYNO,never had a chance at the track.
I would doubt if his times were done on the DYNO?

Hey I'm with Bat and 2uniq, and I have the dyno to prove it, my auto
stock dynoed 98 hp ( non adjusted dyno ) @wheels, after some mods 113
hp ( no exhaust ) then 123 hp with exhaust and headders ( working o2
sensors and reset ecu ) and with a 55 shot 149 hp @ wheels ( that was
before the exhuast tho ). That and the windows calculator isn't that
accurate. Remember Chris H was dynoing 150 ish hp @ wheels and ran
14.6 on a 5 speed. lets just say dyno before claiming numbers, but a
15.2 isn't bad, 14.9 is what the auto does with the zex on a 65 soht
under ideal conditions.

That's a good time for a slushbox.

I'm not a fan of 1/4 mile to hp calculators... they are all just guestimates and some of them are not even based on real mathematical formulas... just a formula that seems to fit. TRUE and TRUE but unrelated. Also most of the formulas were built around high torque V8's numbers.

Automatics 2.0L Betas push around 105-110 hp at the wheels so a 70 hp nitrous shot should do the trick.

Also we shouldn't confuse 70 wheel hp shot vs a 70 engine hp shot. I believe most companies rate engine hp increase.... but I know that NX nitrous systems rate their shots at the wheels. Which hp is your system rated at?

I think that with a little practice more than a little more bottle pressure.. you should be in the 14's.

Just take the car down to the dyno and spend the $50-$100 and have them run it with the nitrous and an a/f curve. Then you know for sure that you are spot on with the fuel... and you get to know exactly how much power you are making on and off the bottle.

I don't know why people are so hesitant to go to a dyno. It's great fun... exciting watching the curve plot and you can meet some really cool people and you get a no bullsh*t answer.

i've been to the dyno with all of the cars i've ever owned (but not yet with this one)... the time will come soon... i just would rather spend the dyno money on headers.

what headers will make the most torque ?
4-2-1? or 4-1 ?

regards.

In the end, I believe that the quarter time is a little more important the "numbers." Congrats on your low 15 run!
