i ordered mine from summit racing, and have ordered quite a few things from them in the past and i highly recommend them. they are awesome. very good shipping rates and some of the lowest prices you can find.
Don't get them from Summit, out of the "Cheap" prices I found, theirs was the most expensive and didn't include s/h.

They really don't do anything other than provide 2" of space between it and the motor.
They're no better than the stocker performance wise because your car doesn't need them.

Uhm, I wouldn't belive that, they move like 2 times as much air as the stockers, therefore keeping your engine and radiator cooler right? Space is a good thing, but here in the desert, I want COOLER.

Not really, they have a good warranty, fantastic name, and the black ones run the same price. That's why I spent some time looking, I'm into getting the performance and looks at the same time, so if I canspice up the engine bay a bit with something that will help me performance wise (Not tomention, I need the space for the GT headers.), for the same price, I'm doing it.

Who'd you order from?
Where did you get the old ones you are getting rid of?

I ordered from Summit....
the reason was simple, they were a little more expensive but....
1. they had the blue fans on hand.
2. the next day shipping was not bad.
my choice was more for reason # 2 than anything. the other places I called were crazy with their next day shipping prices. the worst place was Jegs.
the Imperials I think they came from Pep Boys, Auto Zone or Strauss Auto.
one of the three not sure which one, the receipts are at home.

It's not gonna cool the motor any more than the stockers because they are still held back by the stock t-stat. They turn on at the same time as stock, and get the fluid down to normal temp only a couple seconds quicker, but then shut off at the same point as the stockers. It's not gonna get the motor any colder.
It's for space saving and color only.
Now, if you put in a lower t-stat, then you have a performance reason to have them.

wrong Jon... but you are correct to a point.
You are only going to cool to the point that the in engine termostat and the thermoswitch in the radiator allow it.. but in extremely hot temps, the termoswitch is going to activating the fans a lot more often than it would in cooler. The in engine termostat will just remain open all the time... it does that anyway.

I'm in 100 degree weather most of the summer, and the fan is never constantly on. There's just no need for them, especially for anyone living north of me.
$200 will buy a lot of other MORE useful parts. Something that you'll enjoy everyday and not hidden under the hood providing no power gain.
