I am going to be changing my Timing belt in the next few weeks. Already bought the belt, idler, and tensioner. I am considering buying and installing an adjustible/lighter CAM pulley. My question is, is it worth the $100 and what kind of HP would they allow?

So I guess from reading that article that it isnt the actual weight of the pulley that makes the power difference it is the tuning on a dyno of the sprocket that actually did it?

Get the crank pulley instead. Gives more hp/tq and is cheaper. $63 + $13 ship on ebay.

Well according to that dyno he got 2 hp and 3 ft/lbs of torque is that really worth a hundred?

EDIT

a hundred plus dyno costs

Don't forget dyno time to get them tuned... that'll almost double what you payed for the sprockets. BTW, I believe you need both the intake and cam sprocket pulleys for it to work... if I'm not mistaken. ;?

Nope there is only one sprocket that attaches to the timing belt (the exhaust sprocket). Then on the other side of the exhaust cam there is a chain that attaches the two cams. Those sprockets look to be made into the cam while the one on the end of the exhaust cam is removable.

Kspec has an adjustable sprocket to replace one of those chain sprockets inside the head.. no idea how though. Like you, It looke to me that they are a perminent part of the cam.
