Engine Mounts
I did a search and came up blank. All I want is really just inserts but an entire mount would be ok too I guess. But Does anyone make or is there another car that I can use urathane bushing engine mounts? I want to stiffen up the engine roll. I know it will make for more vibration in the car. I Don't care. This is another one of my quests for a little more speed. smile.gif Anyway, there are inserts energy suspension makes and thewn there are entire mounts. I guess inserts are all that are really needed, but if the mounts themselves are a good price I may do that as well. Also how hard would it be to changwe them out? I know someone HDK? has tranny mounts but I am not sure if those will work on a 2001+ Elantra. Thanks.

I have heard off and on about these, theyre not talked about very much, probably due to the vibrating parts, but I gotta ask, does it really make that much of a difference? I mean I don't mind if I just feel a little more, but I don't wanna be bouncing around, sorry for not answering your question, let me go ahead and search around for some in my car-site databases, so that I don't feel bad. hehe. alright then!
K did some searching -- I found a site that makes 4-6cyl/LOM Engine specific mounts, they also have vibration insulators (which are also LOM Specific) now ummm, someone hint me in on this (LOM)?

Again I did a search here on the board and didnt find anything. Unless you taking a general internet search, which brings me back to has anyone done this and how similar are the mounts on the 2001 elantra's than the old beta's. And a solid mount I don't think would be a good idea unless the welds on the mounts can handle the stress.

well I'll be snookered.
melt or cut or carve or whatever to get the rubber out of regular mounts and replace with epoxy. solid mount. This has been talked about in the past and I wonder where all the posts disappeared to. I KNOW I've seen it on here and not just on HT and Fxtreme! Now I'm curious, lemme see if I can dig something up real quick.

Hmmmm. I don't think I like the sound of that. smile.gif I want to be able to undo it if nec.. SO an insert or an entiure mount or a suspension mount that would fit in place of the rubber mount would be better. Just not sure if I go with the suspension bushings what size to get.

In the USA, no one currently makes suspension bushings or engine mounts for our cars (tiburon or elantra, regardless of year).
For suspension bushings, you can contact Whiteline (www.whiteline.com.au). They have been somewhat slow to jump onto the new Elantra platform, but hopefully they will if enought people ask for it.
Whiteline does carry suspension bushings for the gen1/gen2 tibbie/and (1996-2000)elantra, but it is a limited set, not the complete set.
No one currently makes engine/tranny mount replacements for any vintage/make Hyundai that I know of.
You can make your own, but that's about it.
There are some "race only" full suspension bushing/engine mount sets available in korea, but they are about $700 for the set, and they are so hard/harsh as to be RACE ONLY. They are also only for the gen1/gen2 tibbie/and (1996-2000)elantra.

Thats cool. I hope you guys know when I say suspension bushings I mean using them as engine mounts. All I would ned is the dimensions of the rubber mount to put in the bushings. smile.gif I've seen it done, but since I really don't want to take out a rubber mount for the sake of measuring it, I figured I'd ask here if anyone hes done it or has a mount out of their car. Energy suspension makes universal mounts but I guess I would need that dimension info to order them. Thanks.

If you bought a set and modified them, you would still have the original set to go back to if it was too harsh, and somebody surely would buy your DIY set from you.

Yeah but Energy Suspensions has several universal mounts to choose from based on dimensions. smile.gif So I would need rough dimentions of them. smile.gif Or are you talking about the "solid" DIY epoxy? Isn't that permenant? No sure how its done. If you can dig up some info on it it would be great. If its an easy in and out I may even think about mass producing them. smile.gif For a price that is. smile.gif
