What is up with these $10.00 and under intakes on ebay. I would think it would cost more than that to even make them. Has anyone bought these and had success with them? The sellers ratings are around 98%. Even if they are only short ram intakes I would get one for only 10 dollars.

It's not quiet $10 because they rip you off on shipping, but it's still not too bad. Although it's a WAI and it could probably only hurt your performance. On the other hand you could get a 45 degree mandrel bent pipe and make a real CAI out of this one, just like I did with mine.

btw take a look at my thread in FS section, maybe you will like my custom CAI.

well for one... they're all charging $25 for shipping. this is how they are making their money. it costs about $8 to ship w/ USPS. i know... i shipped an AEM one before.

and... i've also bought an "ebay intake" and i had no problems with it...

but i will say that you should look into an AEM one instead. you'd be better off

edit: OP beat me. fawker!

But AEM cost 5 times more than this intake and with $25 more you could make the same if not better design than AEM...

EDIT: lol smile.gif

Mine is an eBay CAI...

Old Pic back when it was red:

And now that it is colour matched to the body of the car:

This one is a one piece affair that actually goes THROUGH the metal of the inner fender where the battery would ordinarily sit.. hense the reason it is cocked to the side like that. Keeps the filter up nice and high, but still in the cooler air of the inner fender.

i bought one off ebay for like $40 shipped from Intake_Power (i think that was his name). it works great, i mean a CAI is a CAI, even if AEM or Injen make a slightly better CAI, is 1 or 2 hp really worth an extra $200? however, my intake off ebay rocks, absolutely screams at 6750 RPM's, yet mellow as long as you stay off the gas. so all in all, unless you're doing a show car, ebay intakes rock!

In most cases, yeah, it's worth it. You get a quality filter, and some good connectors and stuff.

Someone will come in and say "A connector is a connector", whatever. I personally belive that we need to support the bigger companies or we will not see more parts made for future Hyundais. Not to mention, when you tell your friends you have a AEM or INJEN, you get smiles, when you tell your friends you have a $35 intake from Ebay, from ImprtTrendzzz, they'll slap you.

if you are really going to go with an ebay intake, at least get an AEM or injen copy..
here is what the AEM copy looks like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-01-98-99...bayphotohosting
that one's about $50 total.

If you are going to use the Photobucket links, use the correct one.
