Default Degreased and detailed my engine. Now its smoking

I bought Gunk Engine Degreaser and Gunk Engine Shine this morning and spent the last couple of hours covering my parts in my engine, spraying the degreaser everywhere, brushing it all off, and then hosing it down. I sprayed the engine shine stuff all over after it dried. This is the stuff

I started the car up a few minutes ago and there was a really bad smell coming from the engine and it started to smoke some. I'm hoping its just the engine burning off the degreaser and engine shine and it will be ok after awhile but can someone confirm thats what happens when you use this stuff? Im a little worried to drive it anywhere now.

Did you read the directions/MSDS on the ENGINE SHINE?

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: Flammable

Hydrocarbon Fluid 15% to 40%

Smoke may be acrid and fumes irritating

Using a non-metalic scoop, place contaminated material into an approved chemical waste container. Where possible, vacuum spilled liquid using

an explosion proof vacuum to recover material

If run-off occurs, notify proper authorities as required that a spill has occurred

MSDS is just to scare people. You know chemicals can't really be dangerous don't you guys? I mean what's the worst that could happen right?

Always read label directions first!

I'd say it's possibly just w/e you didn't rinse off burning away, but you might try rinsing a little better next time (if your car doesn't burn down this time)

Per the directions, you can just spray it on and leave it for a "shine" or Spray it onto a rag and wipe down the engine with it...no rinsing required.

Uh, with those ingredients in it, I wouldn't do that, but the instructions say you CAN!

I've used that stuff in the past also. You will only get a little bit of smoke if the stuff gets on your header or exhaust manifold. It will go away after driving some, as will the smell too.
