Well Stocker got me thinking about doing some sign groves.
So far i have decked the head. and had it cleaned.
(picture of possible groves)
(closer look at possible groves)
(picture of top of head)
(picture of intake port)
(picture of exhaust port)
I have had the 1.8 pistons pressed on to the stock 2.0 rods.
(1.8 pistons and 2.0 rod)
sent out the block for honing and glazing.
(picture of cylinders)
sent out crank for polishing(wanted to get it lightened but its way to expensive)
(picture of block on hoist)
(p&P intake manifold)
also ordered new rod and main bearings
got some new head bolts
XD head gasket for raised compression as well
new timing belt and tensioners
I am going to clean up the engine bay really nice while i am at it as well as it stands right now it looks a mess.
(engine bay i know its an auto tranny but its rebuilt and only has 3000 miles on it so it will do till i get around to swapping it)
the crank pulley is chipped so i am in the process of ordering obx under drive pulley.
my current setup is
P&P intake manifold.
msd dis 2 62112
warm air intake
header
full exhaust no cats
75 shot of nitrous
O2 simulator to get rid of cat cell

Nice. I remember my bill for my machine work with knife-edging, lightening, and balancing crank. Never want to go through that cost again. Looks like you have a nice setup. Should be fun. fing02.gif

it obviously can't hurt any thing as long as you stay within the cylinder, so i figured i would give it a try.

there are many different methods and both triangular and rounded both work the same. its documented
i re touched them a little and put the dremel away.
Motor should be put together and in the car next week end.

I am actually really looking forward to your engine's running. I am hoping to use my 1.8L pistons also, along with maybe some milling off the bottom of the head. If you tell us that you can run on Regular instead of having to increase the octane rating of your gas, that will be an encouragement to me! I think member agreen said he had to run 89 instead of 87 after installing the 1.8L pistons. I anticipate that, with the grooves, you may not. We'll see!
