Forgot the usual statment from Tunez for the last photo.

"The fenderwell shield is removed for Illustration purposes ONLY. It is normally installed, protecting the air filter element."

I'm not sure, but it looks like the Ransom Special was made out of exhaust flex pipe.. HEY RANDOM!!! Did you mold the Exhaust pipe in the form, then sawder (Beer is good) the creases so it wouldn't form back? And if not, you think that would be a good idea???? Oh, and what size Flex pipe did you use?? And what type of filter? Thanks Man

The piping is exhaust flexable tubing. Purchased from www.jcwhitney.com in 6" 10" or 20" lengths. It is 2.5" ID

The filter is a "specter" filter. Only $19.95 at my local autoparts store.

The heat wrap is exhaust headder heatwrap, also from www.jcwhitney.com $35.95 for 2" wrap in a 50' roll.

I do not do anthing to the tubing other than stretch it (have one person pull each end), then bend it to fit. By streching all the joints first, it bends farther/easier.

Use galvinized steel or stainless steel piping, or you will have rust problems. A quick coat of paint doesn't hurt before the heat wrap, to make sure it doesn't rust.

Elantra151:

You can move the fuse box, but it means extending splicing a lot of wiring to do it.

You can run a 2.5" pipe under the fuse box and around the side of the battery, then down into the fenderwell. There is a hole just to the side of the battery that can be used for that. The hole will have to be enlarged.

Most of the CAI's go into the fenderwell, by cuttting a hole in the plastic shielding seperating the two.
Examples.
Cut a hole in the engine shield as shown here. Place the piece of pipe on the plastic, and move a marker around the outside of the pipe. Use a sharp knife to cut the plastic. Keep inserting the pipe through the hole unill you have about 1/8" clearance around the entire pipe. the heat wrap will be taking up that extra space. Better to big that too small. http://www.teamsr.org/ForumLinkedImages/Ra...location_01.jpg http://www.teamsr.org/ForumLinkedImages/Ra...location_02.jpg

You may want to install a piece of rubber padding on part of the body of the car to prevent knocking. I used a piece of hosing, slit down one side, and held in place with silocone. http://www.teamsr.org/ForumLinkedImages/Ra...location_03.jpg

You could do the "cut and butt" method if you feel you are capable. However, there are several wires that are all the same color leading into there. You would not want to get that wiring wrong.

Why do you need the fuse box removed?
