Compression test

I suggest trying 1st at Winnipeg Hyundai cause you have deveoped a better realtionship with that company, but I know Hyundai will not warranty that, but its worth a try. If one of the Hyundai Service Reps were to decide they would prolly come down to the shop and have a see for them self, and they would make the call.
But, we'll do another compresssion test to make sure.

Decker man just go buy a compression guage and you can do it yourself! You'll have to take the plugs out first but in the end it's worth the investment of having your own tool.

Any shop can do this for you for a small fee. For the price of a compression tester, its economical to just buy one and do it yourself. It's very easy to do, just some simple rules to follow to get an accurate reading.
1. have the engine warm and your battery is in good condition (ENGINE CRANKING NORMALLY)
2. remove all the spark plugs
3. disconnect the ECU fuse in the fuse box under the hood.
4. crank the engine seveal times to blow out any carbon/debris inthe cylinders.
5. install the compression guage
6. crank the engine atleast 8 times
7. specs are 213psi. limit is 199 psi.

Been that way since before the turbo. Adding oil brings them all up into the 200's.
I don't use MUCH oil, about 1 quart per 1000-1500 miles.
Jaws021 is at:

He's not loosing ANY oil (that I know of).
If you go in to install new rings, you might as well install new low compression pistions for the turbo.

ok, so they should be 213? Random what do you mean when you say you add-oil? When should you start worrying about your compression. Random you said your compression was 180? thats bad right?
did you change your pistons to lower the pressure or what?

Talked to winnipeg hyundai today and they said that the compression is fine. If it's at 170 or lower for stock rings then we should be cosidering putting in new rings. Im not too sure but if randoms car is turbo then the compression is fine. So jaws the conclusion is that you won and i need a clutch.
