No, those wires have capacitors in them, so they store the charge, and therefore discharge more energy into the spark plug.

Uhh man a while back they tried those in a head-to-head test. The Champion plugs came out the best of all, so I really dunno how effective the Direct Hits would be...

They use the same concept as Nology wires.
